About Classic Luggage Racks
Welcome to Classic Accessories (UK). We own the 'Classic Luggage Racks' brand, and are the first choice of supplier for high end classic and specialist car accessories for American customers. We are dedicated to supplying the widest range of premium quality products, coupled with the highest levels of traditional customer service.
Our History
Our manufacturing business was originally founded in 1965 by my late grandfather George Lyle, and has come a long way from its humble beginnings in Streatham, South London in the UK. Initially the company was established to produce motorcycle accessories, however in the 1970's it grew to serve wholesalers both in the UK and Western Europe with an ever increasing array of products under our own 'Lylestyle' brand. In addition some of our products were also marketed under license using the genuine 'Suzuki' and 'Britax' brands. My father, Terry, took over the running of the company as chairman in 1980, and he went on to oversee the diversification of the business into car accessories. It was during the 1980's that the classic car accessory side of the business blossomed with the collaboration of the largest classic car club in the UK.
Now in 2015, we are known as 'Classic Accessories UK', and we trade worldwide from our base in a beautiful area of the English countryside, having moved away from South London almost 20 years ago.
We have accumulated over 50 years worth of specialised tooling and equipment, not to mention the technical experience acquired over that period. This has allowed us to faithfully reproduce motor accessories from the distant past, such as the 'low level folding' luggage rack for the 1954 MG TF, the 'Amco' style luggage racks from the 60's, and the works style Jaguar XK E type luggage rack also from the 1960s. Indeed it is these rarities that are our speciality.
